Steps to prepare Kichidi:
(for 5 members)
(quantities are measured in steel glasses..)
> 1 full steel glass of rice> 1 full steel glass of DAL
>Toor (yellow) --- 1/3 glass
>Moong (yellow) -- 1/3
>wash rice and dal taken in a cooker(7 ltr).... 2 to 3 times..
>add 12 steel glasses of water
>One teaspoon red chilli powder
>One teaspoon termeric powder
>2 to 3 teaspoons of salt
>cut 3 to 4 tomatoes into small pieces.. into cooker..
>add aloo, cut into small pieces...
> for extra taste.. add Gobi or cabbage... or any vegetable of ur choice..
> lock the cooker--> place it on top of the stove--> full flame..
> reduce the flame to medium after hearing the whistle... wait for another 10 to 15 mins
>stove flame off...
>after 15 mins.... heat (oil + red chili+ jeera) separately in big spoon and add it to the Kichidi in cooker...
>delicious KICHIDI prepared!!!!!!!!!!
